We've talked in the past about the big three (
Google,
Zoho, and
Thinkfree) in the online office apps space. Google and Zoho have been very active and Microsoft is just starting to get into the
business. Thinkfree has had a very interesting model, free online apps and for-pay desktop and portable editions. Unfortunately, it appears that Thinkfree maybe in trouble. According to Erick Schonfeld in
Is ThinkFree ReThinking Its Business?:
One early casualty could be ThinkFree, which looks to be in turmoil.
The company’s Web-based versions of Office never really gained much traction—they trail well behind Google Docs, Zoho, and others."
It would be a shame to see a promising company like Thinkfree go under, but with so much competition for the online office market, contraction has to be expected.

Does microsoft's office-live-workspace allow the users to create the documents offline and upload them without having to login to the account like in eDeskonline-Free online office suite
