Office 2.0 In Trouble or Just Natural Contraction?

We've talked in the past about the big three (Google, Zoho, and Thinkfree) in the online office apps space. Google and Zoho have been very active and Microsoft is just starting to get into the business. Thinkfree has had a very interesting model, free online apps and for-pay desktop and portable editions. Unfortunately, it appears that Thinkfree maybe in trouble. According to Erick Schonfeld in Is ThinkFree ReThinking Its Business?:
One early casualty could be ThinkFree, which looks to be in turmoil.

The company’s Web-based versions of Office never really gained much traction—they trail well behind Google Docs, Zoho, and others."
It would be a shame to see a promising company like Thinkfree go under, but with so much competition for the online office market, contraction has to be expected.

Does microsoft's office-live-workspace allow the users to create the documents offline and upload them without having to login to the account like in eDeskonline-Free online office suite
