Is Your Organization Ready for the Mobile Web?

Gartner predicts that by 2013 more web traffic will come from phones than from PCs. You can see from my college's Google Analytics that traffic from mobile Safari is already #7 and #8 on the list.


Our website uses a fair amount of flash, but is still useable - notice the little "broken" Flash icons.


Something stranger happening on the iPad, where an old image showing the location of the college is overlaid onto top of the site.


These are by no means the worst I've ever seen, but not quite mobile-ready.

By 2013 - actually sooner - institutions need to have their sites mobile-ready, so that customers (for us students) can do everything they need to do from their phones. For us, that includes registration, payment, contacting faculty, staff, etc and everything else that a student would expect to do.
