Objectified: A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit

Here's a quick 90-second trailer from an upcoming (Spring 2009) documentary on design. If you're interested in creativity, innovation and design, this looks like it will be a great film. Great opportunity to get inside the head of designers like Apple's Jonathan Ive. Also, an interesting approach to supporting a documentary film - a self-published website, a online shop of film-related items and the potential to create an online community of "Objectifiers."

Objectified: A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit

It’s impossible to cram a full film’s worth of people, ideas, and images into a 90-second trailer… so think of this as a small taste:

Here’s a higher-quality Quicktime version.

About the trailer: the voices belong to Jonathan Ive, Andrew Blauvelt, Marc Newson, and Karim Rashid. The song is ‘I Like Van Halen Because My Sister Says They Are Cool’ by our friends El Ten Eleven, from their new record These Promises Are Being Videotaped [get it on iTunes]. And the font used in the trailer is… Akzidenz Grotesk! [Shout out to Paula Scher!]

We’ll be releasing the preliminary screening schedule soon, so subscribe to our newsletter or our RSS feed and we’ll keep you posted.

Support the film! Buy something or become an Objectifier.
