Web 2.0: Facebook, Twitter, Elections and Influence

President-Elect Barack Obama may be relaxing in Hawaii, but that doesn’t mean campaigning on Facebook and Twitter has stopped.  As Adam Ostrow reports on Mashable.com, Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire has launched a campaign to have himself elected to this year’s NBA All-Star Game. It includes a series of videos (see episode 1 below), a presence on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and a dedicated website at Vote4Amare.com. Stoudemire understands that when it comes to rising above the popular culture din, an online campaign doesn’t have to be expensive in order to be successful.
